Coega Ridge is a mega integrated sustainable housing development consisting of 38 000 housing units, located on ± 3200 hectares of land.
The development makes provision for a variety of social, institutional, retail and commercial facilities. The development is situated in Gqeberha adjacent to the Motherwell Township and Coega Development Corporation (CDC), in the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipal (NMBM) area.
The NMBM has a housing backlog in excess of 90 000 units. This project will have a major impact on resolving the NMBM housing backlog and will integrate well with the existing fabric of the city. The development aims tocreate 5 000 local job opportunities per month during construction peak and 91 000 local sustainable job opportunities on completion.
The development initiative is to contribute towards socio-economic upliftment and racial integration. The total capital expenditure (CAPEX) on the project is estimated to be in excess of R45 billion, which will have a major impact on the local community and economy. The NMBM has identified Coega Ridge as 1 of 7 strategic development areas.
Crystal Park Ext. 25 is a residential housing development consisting of
90 residential 1 erven.
